Newark Airport (EWR) is located in New Jersey, less than 15 kilometers from Manhattan. Liberty Airport is one of three major airports serving the New York metropolitan area - when travelling from abroad you can choose a flight also to John F. Kennedy International Airport, and when arriving in New York from another city in the US you can choose the slightly smaller LaGuardia Airport. In the record-breaking year of 2019, EWR Airport handled more than 46 million passengers.

Transfer from the airport
The undoubted advantage of Newark Airport is its location - it is twice as close to Manhattan as JFK Airport. You'll find bus stops and a train station at each of the three terminals. Importantly, taking the AirTrain around the airport (between terminals and to parking lots) is free. From Newark Airport you can also directly get to other New York airports thanks to special buses. Liberty Airport has 3 parking lots for cars, and you can check the number of free parking positions in the real time on the Newark Liberty Airport website. (opens in a new tab)
Amenities for travellers
Newark Airport is a true center of American culture. While waiting for your plane, you can enjoy specialties from the USA such as donuts, pancakes, classic fried chicken, barbecue dishes and burgers at one of the numerous food outlets. Newark Airport offers also a culinary mix of China Town and Little Italy, so you'll order dishes characteristic of these cuisines as well. Liberty Airport is not lacking in stores and services either - you can receive tourist information here, use the free Internet, exchange currency, calmly feed your baby or walk your dog. And if you need a rest after a long trip, go for a relaxing massage.
