LOT Summer Internship - 2025 edition

We warmly invite you to participate in the prestigious LOT Summer Internship programme, aimed at students and graduates of higher education institutions.
Why Internship at LOT Polish Airlines?
In this year’s edition, we will select 39 interns who will have the opportunity to develop their skills in one of 15 areas within the company. Responsibilities will be tailored to each participant’s interests and competencies, ensuring meaningful professional growth and active involvement in LOT Polish Airlines projects.
The internship also includes:
- specialised training and workshops,
- a behind-the-scenes look at the aviation industry, and exclusive tours of areas normally accessible only to LOT employees,
- Upon completing the program, each intern will receive a double ticket for a selected flight from the national carrier’s regular route network.

When does LOT Summer Internship 2025 begin?

We are recruiting for:
Analysis and Architecture Department
Our department bridges the gap between business and technology. We collaborate with teams and IT solution providers, ensuring that the delivered solutions precisely meet user needs. We create documentation, model systems, and analyse data, with our recommendations shaping key decisions in IT projects. Join us and contribute to building cutting-edge IT solutions that define the future of aviation!
What do we do?
- Analyse and model – we develop solution concepts and model business and system processes
- Create documentation – from business requirements to system specifications, ensuring consistency and clarity
- Integrate systems – we design and describe data flows between systems, ensuring their smooth cooperation
- Collaborate – we bridge business and IT, facilitating communication and effective project implementation
- Optimise processes – we identify opportunities for improvement, automate workflows, and propose the best solutions

IT Continuity Maintenance Department
Gain insight into aviation operations from the perspective of an IT administrator responsible for maintaining system continuity. Take on daily challenges in aviation IT systems while learning to automate, optimise, develop existing systems, and implement new solutions with our team.
Our activities:
- Administering IT systems that support aviation operations
- Monitoring the proper functioning of applications
- Troubleshooting system administration issues
- Analysing and optimising processes in administered environments
- Developing and updating technical documentation
- Testing implemented updates, patches, and new functionalities
- Collaborating with other IT teams, business administrators, end users, and external suppliers
Manual Testing Team
Expand your horizons by developing software. Join us as we navigate the world of methodologies, techniques and tools that shape the quality of modern airlines.
What do we do?
- Manual testing – covering both frontend and backend – is part of our daily routine
- We work with documentation (Jira, Confluence) and collaborate closely with developers
- We design test scenarios and cases, which we then use in gradually automated regression
- Design and conduct WCAG audits on a regular basis
- Report any irregularities to the appropriate teams as soon as they are identified
- Actively participate in all scrum ceremonies and project meetings
- We talk a lot – also with databases, logs, and the reservation system
Automated Testing Team
Trust but verify – as part of the Automated Testing Team, you will help ensure the quality of developed software by carrying out tasks such as:
- Creating and maintaining automated tests to verify the functionality of websites, APIs, and databases
- Reporting and analysing detected errors in close cooperation with analysts and developers
- Developing CI/CD processes supporting the creation and execution of automated tests
- Designing performance tests, analysing results, and generating reports on test progress
- Working with observability and monitoring tools by configuring dashboards and setting up alerts for critical incidents
- Technical tasks are complemented by project meetings and agile methodology ceremonies, where soft skills also play an important role.
Development Team
Our development department provides the opportunity to work with programmers from across Poland – and beyond – to create high-quality code. Collaboration and knowledge sharing are at the heart of our team, helping us all grow and refine our skills. By joining us, you’ll take part in building web applications and gain hands-on experience in the software development process, step by step.
Our main activities are:
- Creating software and continuously improving existing code
- Conducting code reviews, allowing us to engage with different parts of large projects
- Collaborating with analysts and testers during the development or modification of code
- Writing unit, integration, and end-to-end (E2E) tests
- Working with technologies including Java, Angular, and SQL
The marketing and corporate communications office oversees comprehensive promotional and communication activities for LOT Polish Airlines:
- Managing the brand and developing strategies for our products and services
- Handling external communication for customers and stakeholders, including social media, as well as internal communication for employees and collaborators of LOT Polish Airlines and PGL, and market communication
- Organising corporate and marketing events, planning and purchasing media, and carrying out e-commerce marketing activities
- Operating globally – our communication reaches over 50 countries
Marketing Automation and Customer Retention Department
Our team manages marketing and service communication for LOT customers at every stage of their journey:
- Creating and implementing marketing automation strategies across email, SMS, and mobile push notification channels
- Building and maintaining the LOT customer database, ensuring location and retention
- Crafting personalised communication tailored to customer needs
- Supporting various projects and initiatives within the organisation in distribution and communication
Alliances and External Relations Department
Join us in building partnerships with airlines worldwide and supporting LOT’s activities as a member of Star Alliance.
Our activities include:
- Conducting business analyses of airline partnerships
- Managing codeshare agreements within the organisation
- Negotiating agreements and maintaining relationships with partner airlines
- Overseeing LOT Polish Airlines’ membership in Star Alliance
Planning Standards Maintenance Department
Discover the process of network planning, schedule creation, and identifying new development opportunities within LOT’s network.
Our activities include:
- Preparing scenarios for schedule changes within LOT’s network
- Creating commercial analyses for opening new routes,
- Analysing the profitability of operated routes and monitoring the competitive landscape
- Collaborating with internal departments at LOT, such as the Scheduling Department, Operations Centre, Crew Planning Department, and Technical Support Department
- Building and maintaining long-term relationships with business partners
Charter and ACMI Department

- Preparing commercial offers and pricing for ad-hoc charter flights
- Gaining insight into negotiating cooperation terms for commercial agreements

- Working closely with external and internal clients necessary for executing charter contracts

Flight Analyst Department
Our team is responsible for monitoring the performance of routes and flights. Key indicators – such as load factor and profitability – are continuously tracked by our flight analysts, allowing us to respond promptly to data that requires action. Additionally, we:
- Analyse flights in terms of sales and seat occupancy
- Identify events for which tailored offers are prepared to meet customer needs
- Communicate with a wide range of individuals, such as network planning staff and demand analysts, to optimise route performance
- Prepare proposals for additional flights for specific events or adjustments to existing operations
- Price and manage group offers
Pricing Department
In our daily work, we shape the pricing strategy for specific routes by setting price levels based on travel conditions and passenger types. We analyse market characteristics and respond to passenger needs with the most attractive offers, thereby optimising operational revenue.
Additionally, we:

- Prepare and price promotions
- Create terms of agreements with other market entities

Revenue Performance Department
We conduct high-level analyses of sales and market data to optimise revenue across the entire network. This is the ideal place for those who want to apply analytical thinking to large data sets and make a real impact on the financial results of LOT Polish Airlines.
What do we do?
- Evaluate the effectiveness of pricing strategies and identify market trends
- Create and present data visualisations and recommendations based on findings

In-Flight Products Department and Catering Section
The In-Flight Products Department is a unit within the airline structure responsible for the comprehensive management and coordination of all elements related to the complimentary offer and in-flight equipment. Our goal is to ensure the highest standards of quality and passenger comfort through carefully selected products and solutions.
Our responsibilities include:
- Snacks and beverages
- In-flight meals
- Catering equipment
- In-flight equipment
- Developing and implementing quality standards for in-flight products and services
- Monitoring passenger satisfaction and continuously adapting the offer to meet expectations and evolving trends
- Ensuring that all in-flight elements align with the image and values of LOT Polish Airlines
Our department is where creativity meets precision. Working as a team, we have a direct impact on how passengers perceive the airline. We focus on every detail to ensure that each flight is both comfortable and memorable, thanks to carefully selected products and services.
Budgeting and Analysis Department
What do we do? What does our work involve? Here are some examples:
- Preparing cyclical analyses and reports for the Product Development and Customer Experience Office (HX Office)
- Working in the SAP system, including introducing new suppliers and customers, requisitions, orders, invoicing, and creating acceptance protocols
- Verifying invoices for compliance and cost justification
- Monitoring budget utilisation and turnover for individual HX Office suppliers
- Auditing and improving processes
- Analysing the consumption of in-flight and airport products and managing supplier orders
- Collaborating with logistics and the company’s financial control team
- Monitoring and settling HX Office liabilities and receivables, including analysing and verifying VIM reports and accounts receivable reports
In-Flight Entertainment and Fleet Configuration Department
Experience what it’s like to design aircraft cabins, including passenger seats, and follow the entire process from selection and configuration to approval and installation. Learn about in-flight entertainment and explore the activities that shape the passenger experience. Take part in implementing LOT’s first onboard internet system and discover how LOT Polish Airlines manages its branding.
Our activities include:
- Designing aircraft cabins – from passenger seats to crew-only areas
- Managing the in-flight entertainment offer, press, and content selection for passengers
- Overseeing the graphic design of elements such as menu cards, LOT-branded gadgets, and aircraft liveries
- Implementing the first onboard internet system in the LOT aircraft fleet
In-Flight and Airport Sales Department
Try your hand as a Category Manager and help shape unforgettable experiences for our passengers! In the HXS Department, We design and deliver exceptional products across in-flight and online sales channels, creating unique experiences for our passengers and customers.
Our activities include:
- Analysing and managing sales,
- Tracking global trends and adapting the offer accordingly
- Designing and developing private label products (LOT Collection)
- Managing product categories
- Supporting sales processes
As part of the Cargo and Mail Office, we manage the cargo capacity of LOT Polish Airlines’ passenger aircraft daily – both narrow-body and wide-body. Our daily work revolves around air cargo sales, postal shipments, and e-commerce, along with marketing and operational activities to meet the stringent safety requirements for air freight transport under IATA regulations. Our work primarily involves:
- Managing commercial and operational relationships with our foreign offices and sales agents
- Increasing LOT’s profits by exploring new solutions
- Focusing on innovation and making use of local infrastructure – both in Poland and across our target markets
- Strengthening LOT’s leadership position in air cargo transport within Central and Eastern Europe
Distribution Channels Development Department
We combine technology with business, creating and developing digital sales channels. Our department manages LOT’s digital products, structured into six specialised sections. We are responsible for the LOT.com website, mobile app, reservation process, and the Shop&More online store. We analyse user and customer needs, collaborate with stakeholders, develop digital product strategies, and implement them while ensuring their maintenance and stable operation to provide the highest service standards. Our department also handles payment processes – from strategic decisions to operational support. As part of this year’s internship programme, we are recruiting for the Digital Product Management Section.
Product Managers are responsible for:
- Identifying new development opportunities
- Collaborating with stakeholders
- Analysing business needs
- Monitoring the impact of implemented functionalities on key metrics

Every idea undergoes detailed analysis before being added to the product roadmap, where Product Owners, in collaboration with Product Managers, UX/UI Designers, business-system analysts, and development teams, develop high-quality solutions. Data and Analytics Department

- Managing real-time campaign events using best practices in Python
- Optimising customer data processing for marketing automation systems
- Maintaining and expanding a customer-oriented data model

Logistics Department

MCC (Maintenance Control Center) and Technical Support Coordination Section

What do we do, and what can you do too?
- We are continuously involved in maintaining the operational and technical efficiency of our entire fleet
- We respond to any irregularities in real-time
- We analyse and plan repairs
- We handle documentation from manufacturers and post-maintenance records
- We coordinate ongoing repairs with MROs in Poland and abroad
- We communicate with flight crews on technical matters before departure, during the flight, and after landing

Recruitment process
The internship admission process consists of a few simple steps:
- Receiving your application (until 4th of April);
- Analysis and selection of submitted CVs by our recruitment team (until 4th of April);
- Invitation for an interview and completion of a qualification task (until 11th of April);
- Evaluation of submitted materials by the recruitment team (until 2nd of May);
- Completion of the recruitment process and invitation to join us (until 16th of May).

Our Successes:
Between 2022 and 2024, 138 interns from 36 universities took part in the programme, with 75% continuing their careers with us directly after the internship.
Students and graduates from universities such as Koźminski University, Military University of Aviation, Gdańsk University of Technology, Warsaw University of Technology, Silesian University of Technology, Warsaw School of Economics (SGH), University of Warwick (UK), and the University of Warsaw have participated in the internship programs.
