The reliability of the aircraft as well as the safety of conducted aviation operations, to a considerable degree depend on the hydraulic system reliability. One of the activities allowing to minimize the existing and potential threats refers to a regular monitoring of key parameters of the hydraulic fluid, covering, among others, testing the fluid cleanliness and identification of metals. The above mentioned activity enables the minimization of exploitation costs through the reduction of unplanned maintenance, preventing at the same time against such perils as: accelerated consumption and damage of the hydraulic system components, corrosion, the fluid degradation and the decrease of its oxidation resistance.
The Chemical Testing Unit of LOT Polish Airlines offers a comprehensive analysis of the hydraulic fluid on the basis of binding regulations.
