LOT Bidding Upgrade is a fantastic opportunity to bid for your desired travel class upgrade at your proposed price, giving you the chance to experience LOT Business Class or LOT Premium Economy. The bidding is available up to 13 hours before departure, and all offers are compared to determine the winning bid.
The LOT Bidding Upgrade service works in a simple way, which can be described in a few points:
- Book your ticket at lot.com (If you purchased your ticket through a travel agency or another sales channel, you can submit your offer directly on our website in the Manage Booking section or through the partner's website (opens in a new tab)).
- If an upgrade is available for your flight, an automatic notification with an upgrade offer will appear at the end of the booking process.
- Choose the flight segment you are interested in and submit your offer.
- Enter your credit card details for identity verification and confirm your offer submission. Note: Your card will not be charged until the upgrade is approved.
- After submitting your offer, you will receive a confirmation via email.
You may change or withdraw your offer no later than 13 hours before the scheduled departure, provided it has not been accepted by the airline. After this time, all received offers will be reviewed by our staff, and if the bidding is accepted, we will assign you a seat in LOT Business Class/LOT Premium Economy. If your offer is accepted, you will receive an email confirming your upgrade up to 12 hours before departure. You will receive an email with the auction results regardless of whether your offer has been accepted or rejected.
Placing the offer is free of charge. Only if you receive the upgrade, your credit card will be debited with the amount of your offer. Please note, we still need your credit card details at the time of making your offer for standard verification purposes.
Instant Upgrade is a unique opportunity to secure your seat in a higher class of travel at a fixed price, guaranteeing a pleasant experience throughout your journey. Between 72 and 36 hours before departure, you can choose the Instant Upgrade option by clicking the "Buy Now" button. In this case, the offer will be immediately processed – a seat in the higher cabin is guaranteed for the fees listed in the "Buy Now" section, and your credit card will be charged directly. Once the Instant Upgrade (Buy Now) button is clicked, cancellation or refund is no longer possible.
The Instant Upgrade service works in a simple way, which can be summarized in a few steps:
- Book your ticket at lot.com (If you purchased your ticket through a travel agency or other sales channels, you can submit the offer directly on our website in the Manage Booking section or through a partner's website (opens in a new tab)).
- If an upgrade is available for your flight, you will automatically see the upgrade offer at the end of the booking process.
- Between 72 and 36 hours before departure, if your flight qualifies for an upgrade, you can make an immediate payment by clicking the Buy Now (opens in a new tab) button. The upgrade offer will also be available in the Manage Booking section.
- Choose the flight segment you want to upgrade.
- Enter your credit card details, which will be verified and immediately charged.
- If you choose the Instant Upgrade option, the offer will be confirmed right away. Once confirmed, it cannot be changed or canceled.
- You will receive the upgrade confirmation via email.
LOT Business Class upgrade on short-haul flights gives you:
- Access to business lounges all over the world plus snacks and drinks

- Priority in baggage reclaim
- Access to business lounges at airports
- Fast track at airports
- Priority when boarding
- A selection of newspapers and magazines on board

Upgrade to LOT Premium Economy on medium-haul flights (from/to Dubai, Riyadh, Tashkent and Astana) includes:
- access to the Business Lounge in Warsaw at a special price,
- special check-in,
- special line at the Contact Centre,
- priority in baggage claim,
- Fast Track at Warsaw airport,
- priority boarding,
- free seat next to you on the plane,
- wide selection of newspapers and online magazines (e-newspapers),
- welcome drink (soft drink)
- alcoholic beverages and meals during the flight.
LOT Premium Economy upgrade on long-haul flights gives you:
- A dedicated Call Centre line
- A dedicated check-in point at the airport
- Priority in baggage reclaim
- Fast track at the airport
- Priority boarding
- Comfortable seats with fold-out footrests, at a distance of 93 cm between the rests
- Individual 10.6-inch monitors
- Welcome drink - soft drink
- Meals, alcoholic drinks, snacks
LOT Business Class upgrade on long-haul flights gives you:
- A dedicated Call Centre line
- A dedicated check-in point at the airport
- Priority in baggage reclaim
- Access to business lounges at airports
- Fast track at the airport
- Priority boarding
- Comfortable flat bed seats at a distance of 190 cm between the rests
- Individual 15.4-inch monitors
- Welcome drink - champagne
- Meals, alcoholic beverages, snacks in restaurant quality with waiter service.
No, benefits are granted only on the bid segment of travel. Services such as Fast Track, Business Lounge access, priority check-in, or priority boarding are only granted at the departure airport of the bidded leg of the trip.
LOT Upgrade Terms
No. All conditions remain valid and unchanged.
No. Baggage allowance specified in your fare conditions remains unchanged.
No. The service applies to individual legs of the route, not the entire flight. You can choose for yourself on which leg of the journey you want to upgrade and which you want to leave unchanged.
LOT Upgrade can be used by the passengers who are holding an LOT Polish Airlines flight document (ticket number must start with 080…). The LOT Upgrade offer is available up to 24 hours before your scheduled departure time.
Upgrade LOT does not include all air fares and all destinations, that LOT operates to. Additionally LOT Upgrade does not include:
- Passengers travelling with children under 2 years of age
- Passengers booked within a group of more than 9 people
- Passengers travelling on charter flights operated by PLL LOT
- Flight bookings which are not yet confirmed.
- Passengers travelling with children under 2 years of age
If the LOT Upgrade service is available for your flight, you can upgrade as follows:
- When you purchase your ticket on the LOT website - at the end of the booking process, you will see a window offering to upgrade your ticket if this option is available for your flight.
- In the Manage My Booking panel on our webiste.
- By clicking on the link you will receive by email before departure.
Currently, we offer LOT Upgrade for:
1) long-haul flights:- between Warsaw and Beijing, Tokyo, Seoul, Delhi, Mumbai, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, Toronto;
- between Krakow and Chicago, New York;
- between Rzeszow and New York;
- between Budapest and New York;
- between Wroclaw and Seul.
2.) mid-haul flights:
- between Warsaw and Dubai, Astana, Riyadh and Tashkent
3) short-haul flights (up to 5 hours)
If you wish to cede your seat to another passenger, you can only do so before boarding by notifying LOT Polish Airlines staff of your need. After boarding, the swap is no longer possible. It is also not permitted to switch seats during the flight.
If your reservation includes several passengers the offer will be relevant for all passengers on the same reservation.
If the tickets have separate reservation numbers, each traveler can use the service individually. In the case where all passengers share a single reservation number, the reservation must first be split. To do this, please contact the Contact Center at +48 22 577 77 55.
As long as the offer has not already been accepted, but not later than 13 hours prior to the scheduled flight departure time may cancel, correct your offer or re-offer.
Miles & More
Exchanging miles for LOT Upgrade services, including Upgrade Bidding and Immediate Upgrade, is not possible.
If you want to use your miles to upgrade your travel class, you can only do so via the Miles & More website. (opens in a new tab)
The awarded miles depend on the sales channel and the travel class to which the upgrade is made.
