E-cargo
A digital revolution in air cargo transport!
Economic, convenient, without unnecessary formalities - let us introduce you e-Cargo, a new quality of transport and logistics services that combines global standards with modern, innovative digital technologies.
A main postulate of e-Cargo program is building up a paper-free air cargo supply chain where paper documents are going to be completely replaced by electronic data exchange. Forget about printing, handling or archiving countless amounts of paper - choose the electronic Air Waybill (e-AWB) and feel the simplicity of air transport today!
What is e-AWB?
The electronic Air Waybill (e-AWB) is a contract of carriage between the airline and the shipper. A leading role of e-AWB is to replace the paper form of air waybill with an electronic document - the exchange of information between the contracting parties takes place via electronic data (EDI) messages. With e-AWB, shipping becomes easier, safer and more efficient!
e-Cargo benefits:
- less costs - cost reduction in transport and supply chain;
- more safety - enhancement of safety and speed-up the delivery of air freight shipments;
- delivery time shortening - possibility of exchanging data about the consignment before it is physically delivered;
- no complications - performance improvement and shortening of delays caused by losing or misplacing documents;
- pro-ecological activities - protection of the natural environment thanks to the elimination of printouts, transport and archiving of paper documents.
How to implement e-Cargo rules?
Not only the procedure - joining e-Cargo is also extremely easy. Three steps are enough to fully enjoy the possibilities of digital shipping services!
Step 1 - signing a multilateral agreement with IATA
In order to use e-Caro service, you need to sign with the chosen airline a multilateral agreement with IATA called eAWB Multilateral Agreement. It enables the introduction of e-Cargo rules with other parties that have already signed such an agreement - airlines with all forwarders, and forwarders with all airlines.
Remember that you only sign a contract with IATA once.
Step 2 - establishing details of cooperation
At this step, you as the forwarder, discuss with the airline about the airports, where the e-Cargo service will be provided and set the start date. Afterwards, the airline will send you an "Activation Notice" confirming all the foregoing issues.
Step 3 - starting to use e-AWB
After signing the "Activation Notice", you can start using e-AWB!. Remember that parties that sign an agreement with IATA are not obliged to provide e-Cargo with other airlines or forwarders (however, they can delete or add an airport at any time when they want to activate or deactivate the e-Cargo rules).
The list of forwarders and airlines, who have already signed the multilateral e-AWB agreement, is available on www.iata.org.
e-Cargo - cooperation of high standard
e-Cargo - it's that simple!
Paper is a thing of the past - thanks to the electronic version of the consignment note, you can forget about printing, transporting and archiving paper AWB versions.
