NEW OPPORTUNITIES IN FRESH GOODS TRANSPORT ā€“ LOT POLISH AIRLINES WITH IATA CEIV FRESH CERTIFICATION

LOT Polish Airlines has been awarded the prestigious IATA CEIV Fresh certification, confirming the carrier's highest standards in transporting perishable goods such as fruits, vegetables, fish, meat, and flowers. This achievement establishes LOT as a leader in this segment in the Central and Eastern European markets.

The IATA CEIV Fresh (Center of Excellence for Independent Validators in Perishable Logistics) certification ensures that LOT's logistical processes comply with international standards for quality, safety, and freshness of temperature- and time-sensitive products.

Third Prestigious IATA Certification for LOT Polish Airlines

The CEIV Fresh certification is the third IATA certification for LOT Polish Airlines. The national carrier also holds CEIV Pharma certification (renewed in 2023) and CEIV Lithium Batteries certification.

Achieving the CEIV Fresh certification required undergoing a rigorous audit, which included staff training, procedural verification, and practical competency examinations. LOT also gained valuable expertise that it will share with partners through its LOT Cargo Academy.

Investment in Modern Technologies

With its fleet of Boeing 787 Dreamliners and specialized equipment such as mobile refrigerators and dedicated containers, LOT plans to expand its operations in transporting temperature- and time-sensitive products.

Transporting fresh goods, including flowers from South America via Miami, opens new opportunities to support Polish exports and further develop LOTā€™s cargo offerings in international markets.

 

LOT with Cybersecurity Certifications

PN-EN ISO/IEC 27001:2023 Certificate

The safety of our passengers has always been, and will continue to be, the highest priority for LOT Polish Airlines. This commitment extends to all aspects, including cybersecurity. To reassure our customers that their data and information are processed and protected securely, and that payment transactions meet the highest security standards, we have confirmed this through two key certifications:

Ā· PN-EN ISO/IEC 27001:2023

Ā· PCI DSS.

The first of these certifications confirms the implementation of an Information Security Management System, ensuring that collected data is carefully protected through secure processing procedures, while addressing both external and internal risks. This certificate is valid until May 2027 and is overseen by DEKRA Certification, part of the international DEKRA SE group ā€“ a global leader in safety, specialist audits, and management system certification.

 

 

PCI DSS Certificate

šŸ“…Valid from 9 November 2023 to 8 November 2024

The PCI DSS certificate, on the other hand, confirms the appropriate level of security for credit and payment card transactions used by our passengers. As LOT Polish Airlines, we renew this certification annually. The current certification was conducted by SC2Labs, an authorised PCI QSA auditor certified by the PCI Security Standards Council.

Holding both of these certificates places us in a strong position when it comes to ensuring the confidentiality, availability, and integrity of the data we process.

 

AIRLINE RETAILING MATURITY CERTIFICATE FOR LOT POLISH AIRLINES

šŸ“…Valid from 18 February 2022 to 28 February 2025

One of our primary goals, both on board our aircraft and on the ground, is to provide the highest possible standard of service for our passengers. In pursuit of this, we began the Airline Retailing Maturity certification process at the start of 2022, successfully

completing it on 18 February of the same year. This achievement marked one of the first steps towards establishing a new NDC distribution channel at LOT Polish Airlines. This distinction serves as both a commitment and confirmation that the new technologies weā€™ve implemented are delivering the desired results. The new NDC channel brings a fresh quality to LOT Polish Airlines, emphasising technological development and enhancing our competitiveness. These efforts are designed to improve passenger service while simultaneously reducing distribution costs. Additionally, the development of our partner network is a significant advantage. The Airline Retailing Maturity certificate is renewed annually, with the current certification valid until 28 February 2025.

This certificate is awarded by the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in recognition of the dynamic development and modernisation in the retail sector. The criteria for the Airline Retailing Maturity certificate include the verification of system and distribution capabilities, the implementation of partnerships, and the activity reach indicator.

At LOT Polish Airlines, we strive to adapt to consumer trends and the evolving industry, aiming to be not just a service provider but also a trusted travel partner. Achieving the Airline Retailing Maturity certificate marked a significant milestone, allowing us to embark on an innovative journey with the implementation of a new proprietary NDC sales channel.

 

WE HAVE BEEN AWARDED THE IATA CEIV LITHIUM BATTERIES CERTIFICATE

In response to the rapidly evolving market and with a focus on continuous improvement, we have successfully completed the IATA CEIV Lithium Batteries certification process. Awarded on 3 April 2024, this certification guarantees that LOT Polish Airlines provides the highest quality services in the cargo sector.

Obtaining the IATA CEIV Lithium Batteries certificate marks a significant advancement in our operational procedures and reflects our ongoing commitment to enhancing the expertise of the entire team involved in the transport process. As a result, the transport of lithium-ion batteries and their components at LOT Polish Airlines is carried out to the highest standards of safety and efficiency. The validity of this certificate extends

from 3 April 2024 to 2 April 2026, and it was granted by IATA ā€“ the International Air Transport Association, a global leader in establishing safety and quality standards in air transport. As a result, freight forwarders, who are responsible for coordinating and organising cargo transport, consider LOT Polish Airlines a reliable, high-quality, and, above all, safe partner.

 

LOT POLISH AIRLINES WITH IATA CEIV PHARMA CERTIFICATE

After a multi-stage audit, we have successfully extended the validity of the IATA CEIV Pharma certificate. This significant achievement confirms that LOT Polish Airlines excels not only in ensuring passenger comfort and safety but also in providing top-tier services in the cargo sector.

The IATA CEIV Pharma certificate guarantees the highest standard of air transport for pharmaceutical cargo. Awarded by the International Air Transport Association (IATA), it holds significant value for freight forwarders, who prioritise quality and professionalism when organising and coordinating cargo transport.

LOT Polish Airlines has held the IATA CEIV Pharma certificate since 2020. In 2023, during the recertification process, we successfully extended its validity until the end of July 2026. This reflects our commitment to operating reliably and responsibly, continuously improving the transport and handling of medical products.

 

Green Office Certificate

LOTā€™s headquarters has once again been recognised as a ā€˜green officeā€™ and awarded the Green Office certificate. This initiative supports and promotes companies committed to environmentally sustainable practices. We first received the certificate in 2018, and weā€™re proud to continue maintaining an eco-friendly office!

Our key initiatives include:

Partnership for Climate

We are proud to have received a certificate confirming our status as a Partner for Climate. Coordinated by the City of Warsaw, this project highlights our long-term partnership with the city. The initiative focuses on ecological education, environmental protection, and the implementation of actions to mitigate climate change.
